Spring Updates from D2C

  • February - We partnered with Don’t Go Alone (a part of Project Belong) and Grace Nova Counseling Center to offer a trauma-informed seminar. This seminar was for young adults who have aged out of the foster care system and want to better understand how trauma has impacted them and others. We hope to offer more of these educational seminars to these young adults in the future.

  • March - We partnered with a local church in Arlington, VA, to sponsor a Latino mental health seminar. It was a day that offered fun and food for the entire family plus showcased a Spanish-speaking counselor who offered the attendees opportunities to learn more about mental health and resources for emotional support.

  • We have also partnered with The McClerren Group to offer weekly counseling sessions for children who attend Cornerstone Schools of Washington, D.C., a K - 12 Christ-centered school offering an academically robust education to children in Southeast DC.

  • In April, our Executive Director, Margaret Whisler, talked about story work with the students at Trinity Christian’s Chapel.

  • Our latest D2C Story Groups are wrapping up! Once again, we have been amazed at all of the discoveries, connections, and healing that has happened in these groups. We hear over and over how meaningful these groups are for people.

Our next groups start in September. If you want to join and would like to be notified first, please email

We will notify you before opening to the general public.

It’s been a busy winter, and so rewarding to see what God is doing with Designed2Connect. As always, we appreciate your prayers and support.
