The Heart Behind Our Mission

I’m often asked why I started Designed2Connect. My easy answer is because I have a passion for others to have a deeper connection with God, others and themselves. This answer allows me to give a one line spiel that is clear and concise. However, life is not always clear and concise is it? Usually behind clear and concise there are lots of curvy, rutted, difficult roads that were traveled before “clear and concise” was discovered.

I’ve had my share of difficulties that have led to my passion for connections. I’ve known what it’s like to long for something more, to long to be known, to be seen and to be loved by God and by others. I believe this is a God given longing we all have but this side of heaven we often don’t know how to attain it. I’ve known the hard and courageous road of understanding myself and the reasons that led to disconnections in my life. The Lord has used dear friends, amazing counselors and my church communities to walk alongside me to lead me in the path of hope and healing.

Sadly, there are many people in our midst who long for the same connections. They long for someone to walk alongside them to point them to God’s love and healing but don’t have the financial resources or community to do so. This is why I have a passion for the mission of Designed2Connect. I want to help bridge the gap for people to have access to healing tools. I want others to be able to access amazing christian counseling even if they can’t afford it. I want others to learn their stories better in the To Be Told groups and I want to offer affordable mental health seminars to everyone. I believe God longs for everyone to taste and see that He is good even in the midst of pain and struggle.
